LEA BERTUCCI

NYC-based sound artist and composer whose work bridges performance, installation and multichannel activations of acoustic space. On her new record “Metal Aether”, she continues to explore her acute interest in the nature of acoustics and the harmonic accumulation of sound, with its four pieces having been recorded in Le Havre, France, in a former military base, and in New York City, at the ISSUE Project Room. With her horn, Lea produces pulsing minimalist patterns, transcendent drones, and upper register squalls that envelop these spaces in waves of overtones, microtones, and psychoacoustic effects. Lea returns to Barreiro after a first stop at OUT.FEST 2018.

AUDREY CHEN

Audrey Chen is a classically trained North-American (of Taiwanese ancestry) singer and celloist, and one of the fortunate instances where the axiom “learn the traditions so you can subvert them more easily” can be truly applied. Her work (either solo or with some of the world’s luminaries in free improvisation) to date is an impressive manifestation of the hidden and unexplored abilities of both instruments, particularly the voice, which Audrey uses in almost unbelievable unisons and harmonies with the small modular synthesizer that accompanies her.
