It’s now been four years since the first (and revolutionary) coming of Argentinian musician, sound explorer and pedagogue Alan Courtis to Barreiro, when he worked with over ten NÓS Association beneficiaries (whom we now know as “We2”) to confirm the transformative power of music and its ability to promote empowerment, autonomy and free expression.

Assisted by musicians André Neves and Bernardo Álvares, Alan Courtis and We2 get back together (for the third time) for a week-long workshop to develop new live performances at Be Jazz, where little can be said about the type of music one can expect – more than genres or styles, it is each individual’s unique personality and their collective identity which will be heard on this occasion.

From what we saw in 2016 and 2017, they will thread musical grounds including free folk, psychedelia and sound poetry – but there’s no need to hold on to labels and genres when the music will be, above all, intensely free and personal.
