Image makes way for sound in "em ciano", the debut album by CAVERNANCIA, photographer Pedro Roque's latest project.
In this first work, three tracks assembled in the harsh twilight follow an unusual path of oneiric digressions. In a ceaseless search for an escape point from the daily commute where night becomes day, the field recording captured there transform into sonic dissertations in a cyan color spectrum, here metaphorically standing on the bases of musique concrète, noise distortions, drone and ambient.
The sonic experimentalism which runs through the minutes of "a noite", "morre", "em ciano" break with the systematic and expected, daring the listener to follow this excavation of matter, of the heavy and concrete in a graceful coexistence with the lightness of those first moments of light touching the infinity of the darkness.
