Two special concerts for March

We're happy to announce our concert programming for March - two shows which champion specific causes and differ from the usual music night fare.

On the 14th, Be Jazz Cafe will host the return of Argentinian musician, sonic explorer and pedagogue ALAN COURTIS (already an honorary Barreiro citizen), who will present his latest adventure with WE2 (the band made up by over 10 NÓS Association beneficiaries) . Those who were present at the two previous performances by these HERÓIS INDIANOS ROMANOS AFRICANOS (at Be Jazz in 2016 and ADAO in 2017) definitely recall how emotional it is to listen to music and performances as special as their authors' needs. For those who weren't - don't miss out on witnessing this display of unfettered creativity in one of the most beautiful Saturday matinées we could imagine.

Three days later, on the 17th, we move on to AMAC to see WATER MUSIC3 by Porto-based percussionist LUÍS BITTENCOURT, in another matinée which will be a part of the International Water Day celebrations by the Barreiro Municipality. The musician will perform three pieces of the same name ("Water Music") by composers John Cage, Tan Dun and Joseph Byrd (this last one in a national premiere), which demonstrate the immense power of water even as a form of musical expression.

Admission is free for both shows. Meanwhile, tickets are still available at BOL for the other shows we've already announced: FÖLLAKZOID + ANTI S e GREEN MILK FROM THE PLANET ORANGE + PARPAR. And don't forget that applications are still open for the OUT.RA Creation Grant for 2020

Yann Gourdon at the Barreiro Municipal Library

See you soon!

Let's get 2020 started: FÖLLAKZOID in Barreiro in April

We're already hard at work in planning our next year, with some surely unforgettable nights coming up in the first few months of 2020.

One of those nights will be April 2nd, when we'll have the immense pleasure of hosting the start of the European tour of the peerless Chilean band FÖLLAKZOID at ADAO, where they will be presenting their brilliant and hypnotic new album "I", their fourth, after their last performance in Portugal over four years ago. You have no idea how special it will be to - finally - host this band in Barreiro.

Opening the night will be another Castellano speaker, the Spaniard ANTI S, who makes some of the Iberian Peninsula's noisiest songs with nothing but a guitar and his voice.

You can purchase tickets (7€ general audience, 3.5€ for under 25 yr olds) for this concert at BOL and associated stores (Fnac, Worten, CTT, etc).

OUT.RA na FOME

Mais informações here.

To cap off an intense year of programming, on the 20th of this month we'll be welcoming 10 000 Russos to Gasoline. Currently one of the most interesting and international bands Portuguese bands active today (something we're easily able to say without much doubt or exaggeration), the Porto band has just returned to Portugal following a tour of Mexico (!) in September and an European tour with over 50 stops in October and November (!!).

Starting off the evening will be Miguel Abras, the "gutter poet" we saw in great form in OUT.FEST's opening concert as the special guest in the Gabriel Ferrandini + Camerata Musical do Barreiro performance, and the after party will be guided by Xamã Roque, one of Barreiro's finest musical disseminators.

Tickets are already available at the Barreiro Tourism Office and at Locomotiva at the price of 5€ (2,5€ for under 25 yrs old). As usual, you can also make a reservation by emailing info@outra.pt.

Join us in celebrating a 2019 full of great concerts and getting pumped up for what comes next!
